overflow pipe leaking outside from tank in loft

hi,

We have a constant sound of the water tank in the loft refilling and then noticed water coming out of the overflow pipe onto the patio, I had to turn the water off overnight to stop this, does anyone know what this could be caused by?

Well would say the washer has gone on your ball valve in the tank Melanie,new washer or ball valve should sort you out,should not be a major expence,if you can not diy ask about if any of your friends know a plumber,always best going the word of mouth route

Thanks for the advice Puddle, im not sure wether to attempt it myself, even though id like to try, I dont want to make it worse, but at least I know what it could be
