condensate

A fermionic condensate or Fermi-Dirac condensate is a superfluid phase formed by fermionic particles at low temperatures. It is closely related to the Bose–Einstein condensate, a superfluid phase formed by bosonic atoms under similar conditions. The earliest recognized fermionic condensate described the state of electrons in a superconductor; the physics of other examples including recent work with fermionic atoms is analogous. The first atomic fermionic condensate was created by a team led by Deborah S. Jin in 2003.

    Condensate in cast iron pipe

Hi there I'm looking to run a 32mm condensate into cast iron with a mcalpine mechanical boss adaptor. I need to make a 57mm hole and was wondering what's the best tool to use for it. The 57mm holesaws I can see say they do sheet metal but will they do the job on cast iron? Any help will be...

Question re: condensate pump on Greenstar 440

Hi, The condensate pump on my Worcester Greenstar Highflow 440 CDI is flashing green and red simultaneously, halting after a few goes at starting up from power on. Is there anywhere I should be looking for obvious issues ahead of the plumber coming out in a few days? Thanks, Lou

Is this boiler condensate pipe trap past its best? ('07 Warmflow Utility US70HE System Oil Boiler)

Hi! I've been chasing the smell under our stairs/cellar for so long and have had many things fixed one by one, the smell still remains, next investigation is the boiler! They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. Here's 4: The boiler is a condensing boiler, I think it's a "Warmflow Utility...

Why is my boiler condensate not emptying into the pipe?

Previously no issues but now when I disconnect the condensate pipe from the boiler there is an audible air escape from the condensate pipe then the boiler happily drains into the pipe and you can hear it drain into the mains waste. Is this an air lock issue?

Condensate dripping from boiler flue - advice please

I have an Alpha Intec boiler installed on my loft wall. The flue goes horizontally from the top of the boiler and passes through the wall, exiting high up in the gable end. The boiler was installed about 6 years ago. My attached garage joins the gable wall directly below the flue. I had the...

    Condensate lagged though wall

Do most people lag 32mm in this case 40mm (1.5inch) as it passes through the wall cavity or just the external pipe? If lagging the pope in the cavity what's best to seal the lagging to the wall with. I'm thinking it wouldn't cement up well?

    Condensate drain off & leak

So I have a new Vaillant condensing boiler (ecoFIT pure). I can see the plastic condensate pipe that exits the boiler. The boiler is currently set to 62C, so should be condensing, but the condensate pipe never even gets warm to the touch even if the boiler's been on for a while - should it? The...

    Valliant condensate issue

Good morning, Hoping someone can provide some advice... I'm having an issue with my valiant boiler, the condensate pump keeps tripping, I believe the pipe may be blocked (probably frozen but I'm not sure) as when I disconnect the end and drain it I cannot blow through the pipe. The pipe goes...

    Condensate drain off

I’m currently getting quotes to install a new system boiler. The current boiler has the condensate drain off joined into the rainwater down pipe outside. One installer has said that it is fine to stay that way and two others have said that they will need to install a new soak away for the...

    Worcester boiler condensate won't drain.

Good afternoon all, I have a Worcester boiler installed recently. It was moved from the first floor to the loft. Existing 22mm condense pipe was extended to the loft. It looks like the old pipe has no slope and prevents air to get into the boiler condensate trap, preventing condensate to drain...

Condensate drain connection to rainwater drain

I'm going to have to get by boiler replaced which means provision needs to be made for a condensate drain as the old boiler didn't have one. The boiler is in the garage, that is part of the house, if that makes sense. The house was built in 1999. There is no convenient internal drain. Outside...

Hi I inherited an LPG burning Glowworm 30HXi when I moved into my house some years ago. Great little boiler but had been neglected. I cleared a lot of debris out of the heat exchanger and chamber at base, on top of the condensate trap. I always flush several litres of water through the trap...

Condensate when the boiler is not running

I’ve been having a few pressure drop issues with my heating system. One problem already diagnosed and sorted (thanks to this forum) was a leaking EV at the valve end (replaced) but I am still seeing a pressure drop (albeit slower than before 1.5 -1.4-1.3bar) and wanted to ask a question.... I...

How does a boiler sense the condensate pipe is blocked?. Boiler stopped working. I was told the condensate syphon was blocked and had to be cleared. I wondered how the boiler controls knew this?
