I have a 2 year old 42cdi located in my garage which has been fine up to now.
my wife pointed out recently that there is a continuous humming noise coming from it even when not heating.
I tried switching eco off and on but no change
when I switched it on to summer mode recently it goes away
i switched it back on this week cause of the tragic weather and he presto the humming noise is back it only stops when I put it back in summer mode.
I dont want to get worcester out on a fools errand. it is still under gaurantee but if its a simple issue I can get it sorted I am coming off the gas safe register next January so would sooner let somebody else fix it in casae it develops into something more sinister.
Anybody have any experience of this issue or suggestions.
Thanks Steve

You’ll be hard pushed to get any boiler repair advice. Why don’t you register with the moderators, if you’re gas safe.
Yes I understand your point, and I agree.
I am gas safe registered but it forms a very small part of my work which is why 1. i dont have the depth of experience that folks who do nothing else and 2. is why I will not re take my ACS when it runs out
next year.
appriciate you comments anyway.

Hi, Later this year I am going away for a 2 week holiday and as the weather will be warm there is no need for the heating to be on and arguably no need for me to needlessly heat hot water. My intention was to turn the boiler off along with the mains water when going away. Now, I have heard...

Hello I am looking to install a slimline dishwasher (integrated) into a cupboard in my kitchen. The depth of the dishwasher is 550mm and the depth of my cupboard is larger than this. The issue, however, is that the waste pipe which leads from the sink (next door cupboard) comes out quite a...

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
