I need to fit a Combi boiler, just wounderd what you guys would recommend? Any outstanding makes out there ? the house has 7 rads on the system & 1 medium sized bathroom.

Hmm!

As most combis seem to have a bad record for reliability get one you can get spares for easily.

if you buy cheap expect them to fail quickly, the more you spend, within reason the better you get, talk to who your using to install your boiler and use what they recomend after all they are more likely to be the one coming back to repair and service it and theyll know one or two makes better and hence give you a quicker install and better back up

remembering that you get everything in one package, so when the pump/ Div valve/clock goes, you blame the boiler..most of the time it is bad installation practices..:(

I stick 30 odd boilers in a year and very rarely have any problems.

Valliant or Bosch - Bit more expensive but worth it in long run

There is no such thing as an outstanding boiler (unless you include the old E-type's or mexico's) They ALL break down and will cost much more over their (short) lifetime than older models.
Most boiler problems are due to bad installation as the different manufacturers use a lot of common parts eg gianonni exchangers, grundfoss/wilo pumps. Cheaper boilers are usually sh.. installations. £500 boiler on a £400 install = trouble.
Generally the cheaper boilers cost more for the parts when it breaks.
The most important thing is get a quality install done.

Apart from that pick a boiler with a good back up eg worcs will fix anything quickly no matter what is to blame for the fault with no quibble. You pay a bit of a premium for a worcs but it is covered with their backup.

Personally i only fit Worcester or Vokera for a cheapie as i have delt with them for years and get good service but make your own mind up.

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks
