Opinions Re: Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30i Combi

Hi, would welcome some advice/opinions please. I currently have a Remeha Avanta plus 28c (combi) which is 11 years old, still working in a fashion but beyond economic repair.

I have the opportunity to have a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30i (Combi) installed using the boiler grant scheme through EON. Total cost (fitted) is £600, includes flue, wireless controller, system filter, water scale reducer, pitched roof flashing, cleaner, inhibitor and a 2 year Guarantee. I'm aware this a really good price for a new combi fitted and am thankful to be able to benefit from the scheme.

I know everybody has there own opinions on manufacturers/models of combi but I've read a lot of posts which really don't fill me with confidence reading the WB Greenstar 30i, are they really that bad? I'm conscious that it only comes with a 2 year guarantee (I understand why) and obviously the install is a sub contractor of EON's choosing (again I understand why).

For £600 is it worth it or am I just gonna end up with a load of trouble. i.e. Bad boiler, potentially poor install? I know boilers suffer breakdowns regardless of make it just seems that these are quite problematic from posts I've read.

Really appreciate anybody's thoughts/opinions, good or bad.

Tbh I wouldn’t not as your paying £600 towards it, would go with someone else as 2 years is below par when the boiler should have a 7-8 year depending on
If you fit a worc filter

To be honest, I’ve been really torn with the decision. Financially (even at £600) it probably still makes sense for me to do it but obviously longer term it may not be the best choice. When you say go with someone else, do you mean forget about the government boiler grant scheme altogether and find a good local installer (obviously there’ll be a significant cost difference, which could an issue for me)?

Correct

you would get longer warranty and probably depending on eons installer a better installation as there driven down on price (eons)

upto you but you could get upto 10 years warranty instead of 2

Do you have any experience of the WB Greenstar 30i Combi?

I’ve obviously read alot of the forum posts and elsewhere online which are not too great, but as with everything, sometimes people can be more inclined to review/post when things are bad and not so much when things are good (something I can be guilty of !!).

Very good boiler if installed correctly

another one is a baxi 830 10 year warranty
