Glow worm 24ci overflow pipe

Hi Snapper, 2 possible scenarios.
A, The PRV is letting by & needs replacing. Or
B, The heat exchanger has split and needs replacing.
Unfortunatley you will require a GSR engineer to repair either of the above problems.

It`s in the heading Darren, 24ci.
Is the pipe copper or plastic pipe ?
It’s plastic
Does it only drip when the boilers running or all the time ?
If it's a constant pouring and the pressure is ok and not frequently having to top it up. Then it points to a split Hex and the mains water is leaking down the condensate pipe. So unlikley to be the PRV as you would need to be topping up the pressure all the time.
I've had a few of these heat exchangers go. they are in my oppinion not worth repairing as it at least £500+ to repair it. Better off putting the money towards a new boiler I'm afraid to say.
Yes get a GSR in first to make sure it is not just something simple. But it does sound like the hex has gone.
One way to check yourself is to turn the cold water off either under the boiler or at the mains stop cock, and open a hot water tap to relieve the pressure and if the condensate pipe stops running or slows to just a drip after a few mins then you can say that the hex has gone and it's a new boiler unless you want to spend a large sum of money repairing it.
