Goood afternoon all.
My conventional boiler is over 15 years old and I want to convert to a combi boiler.
My system is a typical wet system. 2 small header tanks in loft conversion loft. Hot water cylinder with electric immersion on top, with shower feed coming off the pipe, using a Surrey flange, ( I believe).
3 way valve and pump.
I have got 10 rads, 2 of which are doubles.
I would like to have a good quality boiler, that is more than capable of heating a 5 bedroom detached house, with 10 new rads.
Any help with some idea of a guesstimate, would be much appreciated. I’m not a qualified plumber, and not sure of a combi set up. Any sketches or diagram and details would be good.
Thanks again
Simon

For a 5 bedroom property a combi wouldn't be my first choice as the hotwater supply is limited to one outlet at a time two at a push if restricted , even on a mains water supply capable of supplying 20 litres a minute at 3 bar pressure it will only produce 12- 15 litres a minute a pressurised hotwater cylinder paired with a new boiler would be a better option. Regards kop

It's a forum policy not give guestimates or cost of pricing details because well they can only be guestimates and prices can vary around the country enormously.

You've started with an assumption about wanting a combi, based on what?

I wouldn't want a combi in a five bedroom house.

Beyond that, you need to contact a couple of reputable heating firms and get them to recommend and price up a suitable system. The work could range from a 'simple' boiler swap, which will be fairly inexpensive, up to a full upgrade, which could be four (or more) times the cost.

Once you've got your quotes, return and we can discuss what's on them.
